Established in 2005, Honeycomb began verifying B-BBEE with a single client in 2007. Today, we proudly work with over 3 000 clients across the economy and have built long-term relationships with many of South Africa’s best known brands. Our growth comes from referrals, client retention and a reputation for technical depth and service excellence.
Who We Are
Honeycomb is an independent, SANAS accredited B-BBEE verification agency, trusted to verify complex, high-profile entities across all 12 B-BBEE sectors, including listed and multinational groups.
Honeycomb is also one of only eight SANAS accredited verification agencies authorised to verify under the Legal Sector Code. This broad sector experience means that we can confidently handle varied ownership structures, foreign shareholding, cross border revenue and group consolidations.

Deirdre leads Honeycomb’s operational function, ensuring the team runs efficiently and verification projects remain on track, on time, and aligned to expectations. She is a strong project manager with a firm but fair leadership style that commands respect.
She holds her BEE MDP and, while not currently an analyst, has the technical competence to operate as a technical signatory when needed. Deirdre balances strong client relationships with disciplined adherence to Honeycomb’s procedures, ensuring quality is maintained.
She takes pride in issuing certificates in line with the project plan and meeting listed-entity deadlines, including the 90-day post financial year-end requirement. Deirdre has worked in the B-BBEE industry since 2010, with 15 years of experience.
Zunaid Vallee

SANAS Accredited Technical Signatory
Zunaid is an original member of the Honeycomb team and has worked in B-BBEE since completing his BCom Accounting in 2001. He completed his MDP in 2014 and has been a SANAS-accredited Technical Signatory since then.
Widely respected in the B-BBEE market, he is frequently consulted for his strong technical capability and depth of knowledge. Over the past several years, he has led and supported verification work for major corporates and blue-chip clients, including Discovery, Afrocentric, Anglo Platinum, Anglo PLC, ARM, Hollard, Growthpoint, Redefine, Peermont, and Kumba Iron Ore.
Zunaid is the most experienced member of the team, with 22 years of industry experience.
Chantal Robalo
Operations Director
Chantal Robalo is Honeycomb’s Administrations Manager, supporting the day-to-day operational flow and ensuring internal processes and documentation stay organised, consistent,
and audit-ready.
She also plays a key role in Honeycomb’s governance framework, including compiling controlled procedures such as the Complaints Procedure and Appeals Procedure, which underpin client handling, tracking, and confidentiality standards.
