PPRA Clarifies Its Stance on BBBEE Certificate Policy
The Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority (PPRA) has updated its policy on BBBEE certificates. In a recent letter to Rebosa’s CEO, Jan le Roux, PPRA Chairperson Dr. Steven Ngubeni clarified that “valid” BEE certificates no longer need to be “compliant” with minimum BEE scores. Instead, certificates must only come from accredited agencies.
This change has come as a relief to the industry, which was previously unsettled by the PPRA’s intention to enforce compliance certificates. Rebosa’s Jan le Roux has welcomed the decision, highlighting that it supports industry transformation without imposing excessive requirements.
