Arguably SA’s best talent, Marc Pritzen began his career on the MTB, before turning to road and playing the domestique until his breakthrough in the 94.7 Ride Joburg in 2019. In 2020 he stunned the SA sport scene by winning the SA U23 and Elite championship in the same year, beating current SA champ Ryan Gibbons. Signing with Team Honeycomb in 2022, Marc came 2nd at SA champs, won the Cape Town Cycle Tour and Amashova, and came 2nd in that year’s 94.7. After a period racing overseas, Marc returned to SA in 2024 with a focus on his mountain biking roots, teaming up with SA‘s top Junior talent Tristan Nortje.

A pure climbing machine, Tristan is one of if not the best up-and-coming talents in SA off-road, having won the SA u23 XCM title and winning every stage race in SA with then-teammate Matt Beers. Tristan has won every stage race in SA Tankwa, Pe 2 Plett, and Wine2whales, with the only one missing on his resume the Cape Epic. This year he will focus on a select few races in all three disciplines MTB, Road & Gravel; with the goal of winning on the world stage when they go across to Europe later in the year.

Captain, father figure & leader, Casper has been with Team Honeycomb for 2 years now, and is the glue that holds the team together and arguably the best domestique in SA. A born winner, but always willing to make sacrifices for the team to win!

For Jaco, 2nd place isn’t an option. His passion and determination are such a huge asset to the team and have shone through over the last year that he’s been on the team. To sum Jaco up in 3 words: pure winning mentality!

Cape Townians can be proud of all the talent they have produced in pocket rocket Johann Trotzky who joins Honeycomb for 2024 to compete on the Road and MTB circuit. Johann won the XCO Junior National championships and came 2nd at the SA criterium nationals.

Having been with the team for a year now, Brad has shown true grit and determination; he’s an absolute workhorse in the team. While still learning the trade and our new development, Brad is a serious contender for the 2024 season by already getting a win under his belt at the Dischem Ride for Sight race that took place in February.
